During the recent legislative session, the NC General Assembly ratified Session Law 2011-39, Senate Bill 368 on April 12, 2011, "An Act to Modify the Applicability of Certain Fencing Requirements to Public Swimming Pools …", which authorized the Commission for Public Health to adopt conforming rules by January 1, 2012. The Commission adopted the rule amendment through temporary procedures to meet the statutory effective date. This proposed amendment is necessary to make permanent the temporary amendment to the Pool Fences rule, which expires on 9/10/12.
A public hearing was held on May 21, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Cardinal Room, located at 5605 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, NC 27609 .
